This image shows the Homecoming Court of 1955 at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Standing in the back row, left to right, freshman Frieda Felts, senior R. Carolyn Harmon, senior Billie Kerns, freshman Homecoming queen Myra Elaine Efird, and senior Dolly Koontz. Seated is sophomore Carolyn Mae Wall, Homecoming queen of 1954. Homecoming festivities took place in October and included a parade, plays, a dance, and the election of the Homecoming queen and court, in addition to the football game. This image appears in "The Appalachian," October 21, 1955.
