Description

This image shows Etta Mae Dougherty Greene, the younger sister of Blanford and Dauphin Disco Dougherty. B. B. and D. D. Dougherty co-founded of Watauga Academy in 1899, as well as managed Appalachian Training School (1903-1925) and Appalachian State Normal School (1925-1929). Born in 1872, she was raised apart from the Dougherty family. Here, she is seen pointing off at an unknown object.
