Description

This image shows a group of female students at Appalachian Training School (1903-1925) playing croquet on a field behind the first Administration Building, built 1905. The Administration building is located to the left of the image. The western side of Lovill Home, built 1906, is visible in the background to the right. Lovill Home was located on the present location of Founders Hall, built 1932. Appalachian Training School was co-educational and provided grounds for women's sports, including tennis, badminton, and croquet.
