D. D. Dougherty Library, Librarians Eury and Shook

This image shows library director William L. Eury (1945-1970) and acquisitions librarian Zebulon Shook (1956-1979) displaying a book on beetles at the D. D. Dougherty Library, December 1961. The book marked the 100,000th edition to the college library's collection. The Dougherty Library was built in 1935 and served as campus library until 1969. This image appears in the December 7, 1961, edition of the "Appalachian" (p. 8).
