Description

This image shows the attendees of an Audio-Visual Education Course at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. John A. Pritchett, associate professor in the Department of Education and class instructor, can be seen kneeling in the center of the front row. Pritchett began working at Appalachian State in 1955, where he organized the Department of Audio-Visual Education, later the Department of Library Science. He served as the first director of the Audio-Visual Center, and was first official University Photographer. He retired in 1991.
