This image shows Daniel Jay Whitener standing outside in front of the second Administration Building, built 1924, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Whitener taught history and social studies at Appalachian State since 1932, and served as dean of the College from 1955 to 1964.
