This image shows Roger E. Thomas, professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation in the College of Fine and Applied Arts at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1960s. Thomas began teaching at Appalachian State in 1950 and retired in 1982, and served as the Athletic Director for 16 years. This image appears in the 1978-79 Faculty Pictorial Directory (p. 31).
