This image shows Roger E. Thomas, professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in November 1961. He can be seen sitting at a desk. Thomas began teaching at Appalachian State in 1950 and retired in 1982, and served as the Athletic Director for 16 years.
