Description

This image shows Wiley Smith, professor in the Department of Psychology at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1950s. He can be seen standing with Dr. Marshall Walters in front of the Women's Gymnasium, built 1924. Smith began teaching psychology at Appalachian State in 1936 and retired in 1964. Dr. Walters was Chairman and Professor of Health, Physical Education and Recreation.
