Description

This image shows A. R. Smith, former professor in the Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. Smith taught at Appalachian State from 1921 until 1959-1960. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society.
