Description

This image shows Earleen Pritchett, administrative assistant to the president, teaching a typing class at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Students can be seen sitting at desks with covered typewriters in front of them. Mrs. Pritchett served from 1947 to 1955 as secretary to J. D. Rankin, dean of the College, and assistant director of placement. She became administrative assistant to the president in 1961 and retired in 1972. Typing courses were taught within the Department of Business Education.
