Description

This image shows Board of Trustees member E. G. Lackey and President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) holding a pile of brochures for Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Lackey graduated from ASTC in 1937 and served on the Board of Trustees from 1957 to 1973. He also headed the Alumni Association's Heartline Fund to raise money for the construction of Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at Appalachian State. He was one of the founders of the Pilot Freight Carriers, Inc, in Winston-Salem, NC.
