Standing behind the sign which reads, in part, ALUMNI is Dr. J.T.C. Wright, Professor of Mathematics. He is the Wright of Smith-Wright Hall. 

The man on the right who appears to be running is Mr. Robert Allen, Director of Public Affairs.

Description

This image shows the audience sitting at the bleachers during the Homecoming game at College Field at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1960. Alumni Association officers can be seen standing in the center and attendees from the classes of 1935 and 1940 can be seen towards the back. Standing behind the sign which reads, in part, ALUMNI OFFICERS is Dr. J.T.C. Wright, Professor of Mathematics. He is the Wright of Smith-Wright Hall. The man on the right in the foreground who appears to be running, is Mr. Robert Allen, Director of Public Affairs. College Field was located on the present site of Rankin Science Hall and was replaced in 1962 by Conrad Stadium.
