This image shows John Kirk, professor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Kirk began teaching social studies at Appalachian State in 1940 and served as assistant football coach from 1940 to 1961. He also served as dean of Men.
