Description

This image shows a student swimming underwater during a swimming class in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1960. Appalachian State offered courses for physical education majors in beginners and advanced swimming, but also offered recreational classes for freshmen and sophomore non-majors.
