Description

This image shows instructor Ann Moore observing student Gayle Henson painting a picture on an easel during a class in the Department of Art at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. The Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State and is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. This image appears in the January 18, 1962, edition of "The Appalachian."
