This image shows students standing around a campaign information table for Senate candidate Harvey Gantt at Sanford Mall at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in November 1990. The non-presidential election included the Senate race between incumbent Jesse Helms and Democrat Harvey Gantt. L. S. Dougherty Hall, built 1962, can be seen in the background. This image appears in the 1991 Rhododendron (p. 67).
