SGA President Robert Leak, 1974

This image shows Robert Leak, president-elect of the Student Government Association at Appalachian State University (1967-current) on March 22, 1974. Leak served as student body president for the 1974-75 academic year. Founded in 1939-1940 as the Student Council, the Student Government Association serves as the students' only official voice to the Appalachian administration. The Student Senate is the main governing body and is composed of elected on and off campus students. The SGA president also serves as a full voting member of the Board of Trustees.
