Description

This image shows a group of women standing outside Doughton Hall holding a framed Outstanding Homefront Award and a letter at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in February 1968. Doughton Hall residents were awarded the Outstanding Homefront Award by the United States Armed Forces in Vietnam for their support through contributions to the people of Vietnam and their support of the war effort. Doughton Residence Hall, built 1963, was a dormitory for women. Another residence hall is visible in the background.
