Description

This image shows a student dressed as a judge for the kangaroo court sponsored by the Law Association during the May Day Play Day, the annual May Day festival held at Sanford Mall at Appalachian State University (1967-current) on May 8, 1971. Other students can be seen in the background. The May Day Play Day in 1971 was organized with a New Orleans Bourbon Street theme, and included jazz music, booths, games, a coin-toss, an ice cream parlor, sideshows, body painting, pea shooting, the Appalette's egg combat booth, and the Golden Capers' pie throwing contest.
