This image shows the audience sitting on the edge of a cliff watching the the U. S. Hang Gliding Championships held at Grandfather Mountain near Linville, North Carolina, in the 1970s. People can be seen with video cameras, still cameras, and dogs. The event was sponsored by the United States Hang Gliding Association, a non-profit organization that supported non-motorized, foot-launched hang gliding.
