Description

This image shows a meeting of the Mountaineer Club at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the early 1970s. A group of men can be seen sitting around a table while another man stands in the center. The man standing is Mr. Ned Trivette. The men seated next to Mr. Trivette are Mr. Harvey Ayers (closest to the wall) and Dr. Carl Messere. Glasses and plates can be seen on the table. The Mountaineer Club was a sports club for donors who contributed money to the Athletic Department for athletic scholarships. Members received preference for game tickets, parking passes, and access to special Homecoming activities.
