This image shows two members of the Mountaineer Playhouse instructing a group of children participating in the Creative Dramatic Workshop at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in July 1974. The Creative Dramatic Workshop was a summer workshop to provide dramatic training for children. The Mountaineer Playhouse was a community theatre company established in the summer of 1971 by Professor Ed Pilkington in the Department of Speech and Theatre. Working primarily out of Chapell Wilson Hall, built 1938, the group performed summer productions using local professional actors and student interns.
