Description

This image shows the Colorguard saluting and holding flags during halftime at Conrad Stadium, rebuilt 1979, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1986-87. In 1986-87, the Colorguard was comprised of 22 members and was known alternatively as the flag team or Flag Corps. Its members were trained in flag twirling and marching, and performed with the Marching Band during athletic events throughout the academic year. Conrad Stadium was renamed Kidd-Brewer in 1988. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 352).
