This image shows some of the speakers at an awards ceremony held by the Honors Program in Broome-Kirk Gym, built 1955, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in April 1968. From the left Mr. Rogers Whitener (English faculty), Dr. frank Randall (Biology faculty), President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969), unknown, and Dean O. Kenneth Webb (Dean of Student Affairs). The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State.
