This image shows a student receiving an award from Dr. Hans Heymann, Professor of English, at the Honors Program award ceremony in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in April 1981. Seated behind Dr. Heymann and wearing glasses is Dean O.K. Webb (General College). The Honors Program is an academic and residential community for high achieving students and is open to freshmen, transfer students, and current students at Appalachian State.
