This image shows some members of the audience for the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade standing on King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1972. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen. Dr. Stilwell and daughter, Laura, is on his shoulders and holding his hand is his other daughter, Judy. The man with the child on his shoulders and facing the camera is Dr. Dan Stilwell (Geography faculty).
