Homecoming Game, 1969, audience

This image shows the audience watching the Mountaineer football team playing Carson-Newman College during the Homecoming game at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1969. Members of the Marching Band can be seen standing in the center. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
