Homecoming Parade, 1970, photo 3

This image shows part of the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade on King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1970. Four members of the ROTC program can be seen marching in uniform and carrying flags and rifles. Onlookers and businesses are on the left. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
