This image shows part of the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade on King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1970. Yosef, the Appalachian State mascot, can be seen riding in a car with several other students. Other groups can be seen marching in the background, and onlookers and businesses are on the left. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
