This image shows the Mountaineer football team playing Carson-Newman College during the Homecoming game at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) on October 23, 1965. A Carson-Newman Eagle can be seen jumping on a Mountaineer. The audience can be seen sitting on bleachers in the background. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
