This image shows a member of the Homecoming Court standing with an escort on the football field at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) during the crowning of the queen during halftime in October 1974. The audience can be seen sitting on the grass in the background. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
