Homecoming Parade, 1964, NEA

This image shows the National Education Association float in the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) Homecoming Parade on the Promenade in October 1964. Students can be seen standing on the float around a globe. The second Administration Building, built 1924, is visible in the background. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
