This image shows Howard Contrell, manager of the campus bookstore, presenting a trophy to a student during halftime at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, during Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) Homecoming game on October 23, 1965. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
