This image shows a group of high school cheerleaders holding pom-poms while marching in the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) Homecoming parade going down King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1965. A band can be seen behind them. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
