Homecoming Parade, 1967, photo 2

This image shows Appalettes marching in the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade on King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1967. They can be seen carrying a banner reading, "The Appalettes of ASU." Businesses, including Bill's Shoe Store and Flowers' Photo Shop, are visible on the left. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
