This image shows a float in the Homecoming parade at Appalachian State University (1967-current) passing in front of the B. B. Dougherty Administration Building, built 1968, in October 1968. Three women can be seen standing on the back of a truck beside an elephant. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
