Homecoming Parade, 1965, queen

This image shows Homecoming Queen Judy Benton riding in a convertible during the the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade in October 1965. The car can be seen driving down King Street in Boone, NC, and onlookers are seen standing in the background. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
