This image shows the members of the fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha at Appalachian State University (1967-current) for 1985-86. Alpha Phi Alpha was one of two African-American fraternities on campus and was the first African-American in the country in 1906, and promotes community service, personal growth, and brotherhood. On the far left first row is Dr. Wllie Fleming, fraternity advisor and Director of the Black Gospel Choir. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p. 90).
