Marching Band Practice, 1972, photo 1

This image shows the Marching Band at Appalachian State University (1967-current) resting during a practice session at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, in 1972. Band members can be seen standing around holding instruments while others are seen sitting on the ground. The Marching Band was originally started by Professor Gordon Nash in 1939 and was managed by the Department of Music. They performed routinely at parades and athletic events during the academic year.
