Description

This image shows the Appatones performing at a dance in the 1968-69. Elmer White can be seen standing in a white tuxedo playing the trumpet and Susan Hilder can be seen singing at a microphone. The Appatones were a dance band at Appalachian State University (1967-current) that provided dance music for University and local dances. They were one of a collection of musical organizations run out of the Department of Music, including the College and Marching Bands, the College Orchestra, the Men's and Women's Glee Clubs, and the University Choir.
