This image shows students practicing their swings during a tennis course in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Students can be seen standing in rows on a tennis court. Now the Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science, it is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts, and offers degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Promotions, Physical Education and Recreation Management.
