Description

This image shows students playing soccer during a course in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. They can be seen running on a field at the southeastern corner of campus. Blowing Rock Road/U.S. HWY 321 can be seen in the background. Now the Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science, it is located in the College of Fine and Applied Arts, and offers degrees in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Promotions, Physical Education and Recreation Management.
