This image shows a two the rugby teams fighting for the ball on a field at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1986. Rugby has been played at Appalachian State since 1976. In 1985-86, it was split into three teams, "A," comprised of the most experienced players, "B," for intermediate players, and "C," for new and inexperienced players. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 375).
