This image shows one of the rugby teams playing on a field at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1985. Three Appalachian State players are seen attempting to block a member of the opposing team. Rugby has been played at Appalachian State since 1976. In 1985-86, it was split into three teams, "A," comprised of the most experienced players, "B," for intermediate players, and "C," for new and inexperienced players. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p. 321).
