Title

Warren-Wilson Cooperative Project, photo 3

Description

This image shows Language Professor Sally Chou helping a student in a classroom. Chou was one of the professors participating in the cooperative project between Warren-Wilson College and Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the early 1970s. The program was funded by a grant from the Ford Foundation to explore the benefits of a student exchange program between a large public institution and small private institution of higher education. Students were able to attend classes and partake in programs available at both schools while only enrolling in one. The program was titled, "Project Diatom," and began in 1973.
