This image shows a group of people performing a synchronized dance routine in a restaurant in Northwestern North Carolina in October 1972. The event was part of Project Rapskills, a grant-funded program to maximize adult basic education opportunities through the public library extension. The band and audience members can be seen in the background. The project was conducted by Appalachian State University in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.
