Description

This image shows an Appalachian State University (1967-current) student rappelling down a cliff at the North Carolina Outward Bound adventure course at Table Rock, NC, in the 1970s. The Outward Bound course was used by Western North Carolina high school and college students to provide outdoor training and leadership experience, and included rock climbing, ropes courses, rafting, and hiking.
