Description

This image shows a man demonstrating how to repair a violin in a classroom at I. G. Greer Hall, built 1950, in an instrument repair workshop at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the 1960s. Three students can be seen watching in the background. The Department of Music Education sponsored a variety of music workshops, including topics such as the dulcimer, music theory, technology, and specific instruments, and also sponsored the Cannon Music Camp, which focused on intensive group and individual training in performance and music theory.
