This image shows international student Alba Herrea from Cuba sitting in her dorm room at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in 1985-86. Herrera was a candidate in the 1985 Boone Town Council race. In 1985, Appalachian State had approximately 110 international students from at least 25 different countries. International programs, international student services, and the Study Abroad program are provided by the Office of International Education and Development. This image appears in the 1986 Rhododendron (p. 27).
